Simple and basic idea of light control. Line voltage in at upper left.  Basic parts list is diode 40265, 700 ohm 2 watt resistor used to simulate but match resistance to needs of photocell (open switch before (relay coil, 24 volts D.C.) is where photocell such as 5HC2 or .6 watt, 300 volt rated goes).  Proper weatherproofing for conditions it will be used in must be considered.  Output lights amperage in range of relay contacts for long life.
