Initial position: the circuit on the left feeds the load resistor, which can be adjusted.
Alternatively the load resistor can be fed by the simpler circuit on the right by playing on the rightmost switch. Are these circuits equivalents? If so, how can you get the parameters of the circuit on the right by playing with the other switches?
