It is from a op amp that amplifies and creates A.C. by discharging through the capacitor to the coil to upgrades by the secondary coil has more turns and it charges and discharges with multiplies the voltage more that 1000 volts.

It maxed out at 2.59Kv for me. Might still go higher but takes much longer. Really like this circuit.

Perhaps I am doing something wrong, but when the timing is adjusted up to realtime, the circuit appears to cease to function. Comments welcome.

@justinmcg67-I does takes a long time, because of the amps are low while it's charging the capacitor. Thanks. I like it too. Lol.

Your example levels off at 2.5kv, high enough to break down insulation.
