Transformerless Joule Thief circuit for driving 3V LED from single 1.5V battery cell. Circuit uses relaxation oscillator on two bipolar transistors, coil and LED peak current limiter using one NPN transistor in combination with 40 Ohm resistor.

I made it on breadboard and it's working. The led glows bright.
