Tritone

This is the tritone interval, also known as the flatted fifth or, colloquially, the "devil's interval". This interval has a breadth of six semitones. The tritone is widely considered to be the most unpleasant-sounding and dissonant of the Western musical intervals, and, by Western musical rules, cannot resolve. This dissonance is observable in the oscilloscope in the amount of apparent noise in the blue wave. Because of its dissonance, the tritone interval is not used in church music, and was actually banned by the Catholic church during the Dark Ages. The Locrian mode, considered to be the least useful of the Western musical modes, is built around the tritone, in the same way that the Major mode is built around the perfect fifth. The tritone is used at the beginning of the song "Maria" from the musical "West Side Story".

This is actually the spectrum of a 533Hz carrier AM DSB CS modulated with 93Hz audio. Result two sidebands one lower sideband carrier-audio=533-93=440Hz upper sideband 533+93=626Hz

Wish we had sound on EC. To hear,, imagine we could compose.... We want sound EC.. It doesn' t have to be stereo ( at first). Just imagine you would double your, sale,,, that means. MONEY 💵.. Go for it..

They are all priority,. Developments come as jumps.

I agree with @Kiani; I have said this before. I would <i>love</i> for audio components to be added to EC. Obviously, audio components would need to have safety limits, so you wouldn't end up trying to put some ridiculous amount of power through your earbuds and setting fire to your eardrums.

Its Xmas season lets wait if they have a gift for us

Din't have to worry about safty limits,, we be able to see the sound, we create, like the rest of EC no limits,, lets go for fire in ear drums.

Fair enough, we'll go with the good old 'EveryCircuit claims no responsibility for your idiocy' dialog box XD

This is typical US law. Do not dry your dog in a microwave

Agree,, american law,, having a 10000000 openloop gain alleged democracy with a motorbike chain holdback,, (feedback)..

I meant to say that audio components would need to have safety limits in order to conform with US law; I'm all for natural selection, personally.

That is how its meant to be,,, a guitar 🎸 classic one, has resonancees, certain chords naturally is louder, in itselfe is melody.. A loud speaker in a wooden box, plus synthesisers, to add vibe, amplifiers for loudness, ,, and louder and louder peoplr listen to music,, looking for resonance of music, and go deaf never finding it.
hurz
Technical speaking, resonance in loudspeaker is bad to listen and might burn fire in your stomach or ears. Have you ever measured the resonance of a loudspeaker box?
paulvg01
Fair enough. The efficacy of a smartphone or laptop for the purpose of pumping 9000 Fuckthatawatts through a guitar amp probably isn't too great, anyways... Unless you're running your device on the same power supply as Viktor Frankenstein...

Resonace does not need a hell of power to destroy or being ugly, anway we lost the topic.
kiani

@hurz. So probably ehen musicians talk about resonance, they are talking about domething else than actusl resonsnce. Amongst 10 guitars,, one 's ( or two, maybe), when you play even easy notes or a sngle note,, the sound fills the space, not by loudness by viberation ( or something), i don't know if it is the molecules of wood that are in resonance,,,, as a lot of care goes onto drying the wood slowly for 100 years in shade,, "i" did a lot of experiments with shape and diamentions and types if wood and thickness to try to make such a wooden instrument ( a kind of lout?! ) { nothing like guitar) ,, had to givr it up in yhe end,, as the realy good purposed wood is far too expensive,, specially the ones germany producrs from from clean unpluted forestseries,,, and are dryed very slowly away from the sun,, over a period of 100 years,, and they have a stock,, ti make sure they don't run out... Not evrn easy to buy as they only sold ti very proffesional instrument makers.. ,, so i still don't know,, what is resinating and what is meant by resonance apart from that it fills the soace and you in that space, your body particals vibrate,, not loud at all, eithout amplifier, or elrctric,, etc.. Can only describe it like this, it is as if it goes through your soule. Weigh less,, withiut any drugs,,, no nylon or metal frets,, but gut frets. ( cat gut), or made from guts of baby lambs.. Or cats. Hope the animal protection people don't complain,,, but cat guts are used for sewing up wounds in medicine,, specially for internal surgury,, as they disolve after a month, ( no need to remove the stiches). Sound gory.

Anyway we don't exoect EC to go that far,, just sound, so we can hear chua, for example, if er choose.

You use the word "resonance" like my wife would say "this color of your shirt taste like lemon", resonance in a very non technical way, a synesthesia way to description.

Had to look up the word synesthesia,,,,,,,, that id again s kind of resonance of some sort,, don't know, but when a particular instrument has this ability and is perfectly tuned, or soecially tuned,,, when a note is pkayed in a room for example,,, every where in the room you sit the volume is the same,, irrespective of your distance with the musisian, or thr instrument. ..

Also, JFTR, catgut generally comes from fully-grown sheep, except on very high-end instruments. A string made from an actual cat intestine would be crazy brittle, and would fray like a piece of shitty dental floss.
kiani
They are reinforced by silk. Stronger than steel.
kiani
Red indians and ancient persians used to use the same frets for bow and arrow, it wasn't shitty and fray then was it?!
paulvg01
My knowledge of the ancient Persians is little, but I know that the Native Americans (or "Red Indians" as you call them) historically strung their bows with sinew, not intestine. Sinew is connective tissue that affixes muscle to bone, less stretchy than intestine, but more resilient.
paulvg01

Either way, cat intestines don't have the same tensile properties as sheep or goat intestines.

Thr cat gut as violine string, is very frail, probably just good foe violin,, but lamb or horse or i don't know what, guts they have to be treated, don't know how they do it,,, and in damp whether they are totaly useless,, i use them not as string but for actually for seoarating notes, don't know what is calked,, finger board,,, wrap them on the handle bar with correct note ratios, as fretts,, and they can be moved up and down the hand bar. Slightly to tune the notes as you wish, ti create any ratio you want.. But they were used as strings too,, reinfirced with silk,,, i haven't managed to make anything like whay used to be used... Have seen a long time ago on a couple of very old instruments,,,, the sound filled the room,, totally,, if you put your back to the musician you couldn't tell where he is in the room. No amplifire or any electrics..

Any musical instrument that was banned because of its usefulness as an implement of war holds a special place in my heart.
kiani
Banned ?! You mean,, one is not allowed to play it?! Never heard of that before..
paulvg01
Yeah, for a really long time it was illegal to play, sell, own, or manufacture bagpipes because the English considered them an implement of war.
paulvg01
Let's bear in mind that bagpipers, myself included, actually have to wear ear defenders to keep from going deaf when we practice indoors.
kiani
If that is implenent of war,, what is a gun or rifles which leagal to buy.. Bagpipe hasn't killed anyone and can't so,, and if someone wants to be a neusense they din't need bagpipes, just an amolifier would do.
kiani

I think that is just assertion if power,, that's all.... English are good at that.

That and oppressing the Scottish.

There was a gentleman who stormed one of the beaches at Normandy armed with only a set of bagpipes. He survived partially because the sound filled the beaches and made it incredibly difficult for the Nazi forces to identify the source of the sound.
paulvg01

The pipes also sounded quite similar to an air raid siren, which probably played a part as well.

Personally an non brliver of hero makings,,, war makers always try to humiliate one another, ti justify the crulty, specially the ( so called) winner, starts s massive propagsnda about how stupid the enemy was,,,, abd they deserved to be killed.. Even unneccessarily... Creating animosity feelings and make hate beliefs, to justify spending vadt amounts money destroying each other... 99% of the people of the whole world get on with one another and can tolerete and maybe even like each othet... In ancient times war was an art,, and trainef soldiers used to honour the enemy, like a boxing game.... They had to face each other,, face to face,, and wars were not about just destruction. For the sake of testing new weapos... Now all someone has to do press a button., it could be a mad man,, and destroy a whole country without seeing the result.... i condole war at any cost... If soldiers want ti fight,, thry should go and fight in a fighting field and leave people out of it... Or the leaders should play a game of chess, the winner, wins... Any dispute play a game of chess,,, what difference does it make.,,,, whethet 1000,0000 people are killed or not for some one to win,,, they could play every year and the winner rule,,, how is that?! No need for atomic bombs.

I concur. That being said, so many of mankind's advances have been brought about by rivalry and war. Had the Second World War never happened, rocket technology would not have been invented, nor would the jet engine, or the computer, or the microwave oven, and the concept of nuclear power would never have been explored. This all may be a bit cliché, but clichés exist for a reason. However, I absolutely do agree. It is far too easy for one man in a suit to destroy an entire country.
kiani
Maybr that is one way of looking at it, call it ironic... Then our atmost advansment is also our own destruction.. So yhe peak is when man destroys itself and the planet making the advansment a negative entity as it is today.. Where almost 70% of the population of earth are living in prehistoric times as far as living standards are concerned.... What is the result?! A world left with a few presidents and leaders alive,, oerhaps living in a bonker under the ground,, ( planet of Apes movie).. It is like having a fight eith the next door nrighbour to the death,, eventually someone's house is going to be bigger, so he has more children and the house becomes toi small again si they have to kill each other,, and there will be a big house with no one left to live in it. The ricket technology think came from germany,, and would have developed, but maybe not in amerika. Perhaps rivalry is healthy and good if it is done at Olympic, . each war sets us back hundreds of years,, deasise, death, destruction and inevetably more wars... With more advance weapons.. How many atomic bombs this planet needs?! And eventually everyone will have a few hundred. We don't really know, naybe sfvancements would still have hapoened... It might be another propaganda, or make belief to say everything we have is cause of of wars,,, and even if its true, in the case of no wars,, we would have other things,,, instead,, maybe better than this technology where everybody is on their mobile while walking,, eating,, maybe we would enjoy life more, a lot more, and value things that matter more..... More travells,, more food,, more time,,, more quality time,, more laughters,,.. And less of individualistic life,, more and more people living in a small apoartment on their own.. Things are not as goid as advertised.... A guy just knocked on my doir collecting money for old pensioners.. Ehile 20,000000000 pound has been spent on renewing a new neuclear submarine,, what was wrong with the old one?!

Perhaps battle should be done in some form of arena - a sort of preset battlefield that minimises the risk of civilian casualties, with demarcated borders and actual medical facilities. Effectively, a giant paintball arena for voluntary combatants to slaughter each other <i>civilly</i>, the way God intended.
kiani
That is an acceptable suggestions,,, after all if the civikuans are all killed the winner will have no one left to rule.. Combators like achilous,, kings and presidents welcome to, to lead the worriers,,
