Planning to build 5 phase generator for a wind turbine. Could someone please check the rectifier for me? Also any idea how to double voltage witgout use of transformer?

ACnVolage can be multiplied using resonant circuits, boost switching convrters of many types, capacitive charge pumps of various types and voltage multiplicating rectifier assemblies (both give DC output only) or through autotransformation ( but this is even if twice smaller than ordinary also a transformer) so u have plenty to chose from actually.

I'm curious why actual 5 phases. Is there something cool about it that i don't know?? Is this for better ripple reduction ?? Ur rectifier looks good btw

For a wind turbine more phases should be better I'm aiming for lowest possible starting speed. In my design coil should give peak voltage every 3 degrees of rotattion.

Oh if so u should even increase number of phases. Best if u chose number that is typicaly used because u will have no problm in finding any external equipment cuz rather rarely something is made for 5 phases. So fuses assemblies for example should be equally load and as i know none 5 phase type are produced but six phase are available. U will need to use separate fuse for any phase instead and try to link those somehow. I know U catch what i have in mind. Oh and more phases will give u complete ripple rejection so no ripple filter will be need at all maybe a small few mH choke for filter out spikes generated by diodes nothing more. I post here how to link two three phase rctifier systems using interphaes transformer so those can work together as six or twelve pulse drive and not supress each other so take a look maybe it will be usefull for you.

Generally speaking, I think for these kinds of solar/wind circuits, people are commonly using switching converters to boost the voltage. They're quite simple little things, and they're easy to make or buy.

Yes teres lot's of advanced converters on market especially for wind generators. If this is budget approach i will search some used ones with good reviews about possibility of repair and how well supplied are spare parts. I know from personal practice that ppl tend to buy costly solutions and those are like high priced cars where car is marvelous but maintance and repair costs are huge and spare parts are unavilable anywhere else but only in specialized sevice workshops for high price.

Plan is for now to have 24 magnet rotor and two stators offset by 36 degrees so actually would be getting 10 phases. This only a small project not more than 200W. It's more to show my son how those are built. Everything would be done by myself so no need to go for typical equipment. First problem I came across is the actual cable from turbine to controller. 10 phase is a lot so planning for rectifier just by the turbine and high DC voltage from there. Hopefully could get high enough voltage so current won't be an issue.

Oh forgot to add stators would have 20 coils each. 4 for each phase. And definetly no ripple which is what I wanted.

This sounds like a pretty cool project.
