This circuit is just a variable gain amplifier, not a voltage doubler as per title. Your previous circuits are nonsense as well.

Billy, see the opamp as linear regulator a bench power supply. Everything is there, a voltage reference (300mV ... ok) and the regulator does by its gain the output voltage. Sure the multiplication is not done from nirvana, the energy is already there, but the principle of regulation is well demonstrated here.
