These are bulbs, not LEDs. They both behave different.

What's the 470 Ohm resistor for? Heating?

At less than 0.02W it won't heat much! I'm guessing @aldyndrey is new to the app and electronics too. The resistor serves no purpose. They are indeed lamps, not LEDs.
