AM Converter

Does not run in simulation mode. Upper top is long wire antenna input (20 Feet or more). Converts AM shortwave to lower band analog tuner broadcast receiver set at 1600 kilocycle band. Disconnect loop antenna from regular broadcast AM radio as loop antenna makes lower frequencies too strong for higher AM frequencies. The 365 pf. capacitor is VARIABLE capacitor to tune radio as regular radio tuner is left at 1600 kc. frequency. Diode is 1N34. Left most coil is ( not 271nh) 45 turns of #24 magnetic wire wound on .75 inch form. Top right output to broadcast receiver ferrite rod antenna (some sets loop 7 to 10 times around) .75 inch form and lay close to radio tuner). Bottom right goes to receiver tuner ground. Night time is best reception. Several YouTube sites of 5 to 7 wraps of #26 enameled magnet wire around ferrite rod AM antenna connected to AM analog type tuner posts and 20 feet wire from positive tuner post for antenna. Boom boxes may work better. Experiment changing windings. Different rigs different setups. In global crisis some plan shortwave listening. I may have bigger fish to fry.
