I'm curious. Shouldn't you be getting much more voltage output?

From what I understand this is correct. It is going to lose some of it's efficiency from the diodes. While its not exactly the one put into A bombs it does appear correct to me, please correct me anywhere you see fit. I am quite new to electronics.
