Zener diode test. Zener diodes have been working fine for me since I started testing this software. Sometime last week they stopped working and it applies to all the schematics that I had done before, which were working fine. In this example I expect the zener diode to allow current flow through it as the source voltage is much greater than the diode breakdown voltage, but that's not happening in my simulation. Anyone can help me understand what might be going on here? Any help is greatly appreciated.

By the way this only happen in the Chrome version of the simulation. I use the iPhone and IPad applications and there everything works as expected. Any ideas?

You are quite right that it doesn't 'zener' on the Chrome platform. Neither do the zeners in @luka98's recent 9V voltage regulator.

Thanks robert for your reply. Is there a mechanism to report this to the software developers?

Yes, go to musemaze website at www.everycircuit.com, then click on support.

Thanks. I'll try that.

add parallel resistor 500ohm to voltometer

@ f0f0r3 - we are trying to understand why the zener isn't working in the Chrome version of EC. Putting a 500 Ohm resistor there simply gives us a potential divider reducing the voltage to 10V (even with the zener removed!) but there is no voltage stabilisation - try putting some sort of additional load across the output, for instance another 500 Ohm, and the output drops even further. No good!

I sent a request for support to muzemane as Robert indicated, but no reply. I cannot believe that others are not experiencing this same problem. It is quite confusing, specially those who are using this tool to learn, because the zener is not doing what it is supposed to do in the chrome platform.

Hi everyone, Today I got a reply from MuseMaze Inc. The zener diode glitch has been fixed in the Chrome platform. We can go back to design! Enjoy!
