Silicon controlled rectifiers...

Using two transistors, a pnp and npn as silicon controlled rectifiers. Basically works the same as a diode, however needs a trigger signal to conduct. These are mainly used in high power conversions. I.e. Taking ac, converting it to dc to invert it back into an ac voltage with a higher frequency.
