Если в место светодиода включать реле или ламп накаливания , то переменный резистор не нужен

по-моему переменный резистор здесь не нужен. И ток на эмиттер ПНП-транзистора, в целях экономии, можно ограничить резистором номиналом побольше- например 10к

В реальном опыте показывает что без этого переменого резистора светодиод не сробатыаает , сробатыаает без резистора лампочка накала ,
