NE -2 Neon bulb shown as lamp in above simulation with a 200 K ohm .25 watt resistor to light switch in parallel circuit when SPST is OFF. Insulate connections properly with tape.
If wall plate is plastic you may see light glow under plate. If metal plate cover, drill a small hole and insert small plastic jewel to glow.
