This is an example of demultiplexing, through a data bus, so we can end up with two separated data buses. This can be used on an FPGA to represent the different values stored in registers. With the high switch rate between the two groups of the, it gives the illusion of being static. So you can use just, for example 16 outputs, to display all your register values.
