In the simulator, logic gates (and op-amps) come with their own built-in power supply. In the real world, of course, logic chips and op amps need a power supply; see the chip data sheets for details.

digital logic gates are connected to power but the connections are rarely shown. So that means components made up of logic gates (latches, flip flops, etc) are connected to power as well, even if the connections aren't shown
