1 relay to control 12v and 5v power to a dc fan giving me two speed settings. The lamp is a dc 12v fan capable of 1.40amps.

Is there any better ways to do this?

First: where are the relays?? Second: yes, you can use a H bridge to controll the direction for most motors

Circuit has been modified. Im not a student or an engineering professional please forgive me

I dont wish to change the direction of the motor, only after the option of two speed settings for a standard brushless non pwm fan. I was going to use a filter circuit with the mcu using pwm to flatten a control signal. This is more simple though i think. Simple. Effective?

No problem, also I'm not a engineering professional or a student, and the filter is a good idea for it, since this is a one direction motor driver use flyback diode between the positive and the negative of the motor

Thanks for your help ;) much appreciated. Do you mean like that? I have modified the circuit. Updated the fan specs
