No Mooshimeter? This circuit may do the job. You have same 10 amp car fuse blowing maybe days or even weeks in between. You are tired of having to replace same 10 amp fuse. Circuit being protected uses less than 4 amps. Circuit description. Two SPST switches to right of battery is blown fuse with circuit wire connected to each lug of fuse that we push into fuse box slot. Two SPST to right of 55 watt lamp is one to turn off light if it gets too hot and other a good 10 amp fuse in test circuit. Push button switch is to simulate a short circuit connection. By using a 12 volt 55 watt lamp which lights above circuit normal demand and below circuit limit fuse we are alerted to fuse blowing activity in car. 55 watts / 12 volts = 4.58 amps to light bulb. NOTE: 55 watt bulb gets very hot in a few seconds! Be sure of bulb in safe location. If 7.5 amp normal circuit load try two 55 watt bulbs in series with wire and turn off switch at amperage ratings. Normally 55 watt lamp is out. When it lights try to determine the cause as passengers in back seat, certain seat belts being fastened, certain accessories turned on or adjusted.
