Dim - Bright for 100 Watt Lamp

With proper wattage diode to half the voltage to 100 watt lamp the light can be dimmed.

So this circuit would a 100v correct? Because you can divide 100w by 1A to get a total of a 100v.

The 165 volts is peak to peak line voltage for 120 volt RMS. Regular incandescent 100 watt bulb. Full voltage may go over 1 amp and diode circuit to lower power to lamp. My area I test 124 volts line voltage at outlet.
