Not code complaint in the U.S., Cant put a switch on the neutral/grounded conductor. Also some multi terminal switches have electronics built in to only allow the switch to pass current if wiring is correctly polarized(aka on the line/supply/hot side of the load)

If you want multi staircase wiring you have to put neutral through the switches,

I made a derivative of your level, its got alot more parts and its very expensive but i will make good profit on the labor.

Just click my name to look at my builds, i used the and/or signal gates to control the relays. Not as ingenious as your idea. Trying to brain storm a full relay logic setup.
