Using a 555 timer for the digital clock signal, signaling the counter to increase by 1 each period. When the display reaches 9 (BCD 1010) the AND gate is made true and resets the counter to 0.

BCD 9 is 1001. What I meant to say is the AND gate goes true on BCD A 1010 to reset back to 0
