Trying to make a simple Mosfet blocking Oscillator that act as cheap forward converter. The circuit works, but it is energy inefficient, only about 50%.
2N7002 Model is tailored according to 2N7002 that I have with me by measuring current Id with respect to varying Vgs, the K, W, L of mosfet is tuned to match voltage current characteristic measured.
Drain voltage appear quite high without sufficient loading capacitor.
Incoming inductor which parallel with a switch seems helps on improving efficiency(50%->67%).
I acknowledge this circuit is a variant for Royer oscillator. I choose this design just because of less winding needed and no additional controller needed.
Please advice is exist a much better design.
