This is the model of a DC motor, including both the electrical and the mechanical dynamics of the motor. The controlled current and voltage sources create an ideal transformer, which creates the connection between the two domains. On the right hand side, the capacitor models the inertia of the motor, and the resistor models the friction. The inductor is used to create a notion of position, which feeds into a proportional feedback controller built from voltage and current controlled voltage sources.
