Breakdown voltage of each diode is 5 V. That is when Voltage is applied to a reverse biased diode beyond 5 V it will breakdown and thus maintain the same. During positive half cycle, the first diode is in forward bias and second diode is in reverse bias. Thus beyond 5 V the input is clipped. Vice versa can be applied to the negative cycle.
