It converts AC toDC by using diodes and capacitors. The red LEDs is the diodes of the diode bridge.

Hey, me and Rbrtkurz has lots of circuits, kameamea1 doesn't even have one simple circuit, he's the stupid one. I bet you that Kameamea1 doesn't know what a resistor is? Apparently he only know what a deer is, wait, he doesn't, because he goes around calling people a "DEER", using it not in a defined word.
