Power transistor collector is coupled to a switching transistor. When the coil is near saturation, the left switching transistor pulls the right power transistor base to ground to switch it off and on rapidly.

I ran it at 14v and got over 380 kv. Shockingly shocking! Literally.

it's pretty nuts; and because it uses the coil itself to oscillate, it runs with most transformers

just built it on a breadboard and hooked it up to an accel super coil; sounded like it was running around 18kHz, shot sparks across 10mm to ground. BE CAREFUL

only change was to use 2x 1k resistors instead of 100R, I don't have any heatsinks (yet). Current was around 220mA
