Is it possible to use lm393 to compare voltage from 2 different power supply. When I did this circuit in real life it does not work the led not turned on. Can you tell me why..

LM393 is a comparator with open collector output! You need to connect the LED to a supply and swap the inputs to make it from its logic LOW active, then it should work, but keep the current below 10mA or better 5mA
