This is an inverting amplifier with a gain of 4. The DC offset of the output voltage can be adjusted with the 1k potentiometer.

Nice circuit example, increasing the volts on the offset potentiometer to about 10 makes it easier to get the desired effect.

Yes you are absolutely right BillyT... I only wanted to demonstrate the offset effect on the amplifier. By increasing the biasing voltage to 10 they could see the chopping effect as well.
