The lamp lights up when the power source is removed by flipping the switch. The point of this simple circuit is to demonstrate how a device can trigger something when its cables are snapped. This could be used for anything, like an electric door that automatically and permanently locks when someone tries to get around the security measures by removing the power source. In this example, the lamp represents an extern mechanism that welds the door shut.

This circuit does not work even at 5ms, for real a time simulation the time needs to be set to 1 second. To get it to work the capacitor needs to be really big, and isolated from the relay by a diode. http://everycircuit.com/circuit/5447067772387328
