The voltage applied to the relay is constant. For the relay to work, apply an oscillating voltage to the relay.

Can get it to work, but there is a lot of things that need to be done, basically in EC that pulse needs an earth and as shown it is negative at the gate of the fet it needs to be positive, and the fet hasn't got enough grunt to drive the relay, work on those problems first, you may need to put in a fet driver transistor.

Thanks, appreciate the replies. I am new to EC and have limited knowledge of circuit design. My experience is more with computer software and automotive wiring. I was using the guide from the last link in the description so was curious to see how it works. Looks like I need to learn more about EC and how to adapt their diagram.
