You can see how a tiristor works. If you add a negative impulse to the gate (npn base), then you can see the tiristor torn off. If you add a positive impulse to the gate, the tiristor turn on.

Nice work. I remember trying to build an SCR once in e.c. and it just didn't simulate it properly no matter what I tried.
