12V Basic 555 Alternating LED Flasher

Tried to make it as simple as possible.
Inspired by Short Circuits Vol. 2, Project 1.

Minus a diode that seems to do nothing.
Plus a substitute potentiometer, instead of a fixed value 100kΩ resistor.

Sweep the potentiometer to adjust the  frequency of the alternating, flashing LEDs.
