After opening then closing the top right switch (to get it started)....then whenever the main switch remains closed, there is approx 90V out of the 100V full supply being dropped across the Nmos switch....so regardless of the load resistor with its varying current, there is always approx 90% of all circuit power being lost at the Nmos. Also...the Source terminal of an Nmos is not usually connected directly to the positive supply.
