I use JK Flip flop as a random counter.
In real the counter count 3>6>1>5>4>2>3
How it work?
Until you press the button the counter is counting very fast.
When you let off the button, the counter will stop.
If you decrease the capacitor's value the counter will count faster.
If you increase the capacitor's value the counter will count slower.
