Some people say that a single 555 IC can't operate effectively for more than 10 minutes. So i made a chain of them. Can this help? Are those people wrong? I need your comments. Thanks.

Can you list a few people that state that this is so? I'm not one of those people and I think hurz isn't one of them either.

I read in a forum that it will not be effective if its more than 10-15 minutes.

I asked for a list of people that state this... And I think the forum has a pount, although the most advanced electric thing I fully understand is the OpAmp.

The basic 555 can gain inaccurate results after 10 minutes, however there are military grade options available. Obviously the first issue is the gain in heat, from the components and 555. But to say it cant operate effectively is a straight lie.

Will I reduce/slow down the heat gained by making a chain of it?

Mate, a lm555 or the dual pack lm 556 if sinked & Sourced correctly will run until you hit it with a hammer. People who tell you anything else obviously have never built combat electronics around a 555/556. These are TTL, if u wish a little more robust, use cmos. Now those are 7400 series use 2500 series & you'll have no prob's. My exerience, 20yrs Military Aircraft,Army. I have a Degree & teach. Basically a 555 is bullet proof if you read and understand the S/S specks. So just blow a few up, who cares, better to learn by having fun...
