EC - please add a feature to block users

I try and use this app to learn. It is hard to do so when certain accounts detract from the point and talk about nonsense. Bottom line, allow the users to spout as much drivel as they want. Just allow other us to block, and effectively hide other users from our feed. It will make for a better experience. I think this feature would solve the current anguish once and for all. If you agree, please support this and help it to get noticed. “No longer lend your strength to that which you wish to be free from...” - Jewel

None of your suggested measures would be necessary if certain users bypassed circuits that they don’t like and if those same certain users never posted stupid comments on the circuits they don’t like then EC would be a far more pleasant place to learn.

I support this request. With an addition: blocked users are also prevented from commenting blocking users' publications.

Cowards should also be prevented from using spamming software

There should be a way to disable seeing comments of someone, but you should not be able to disable comments on your circuits

As an illegal spammer, you should know.

Not having that would lead to the problem that those you blocked can do all kinds of badmouthing, slander and libel in your publishing while you don't see those. But with such a feature will the playground for spammers and community terrorizers be significantly smaller, as victims of community terrorizer and spammer lenzrulz aka Nian_Zheo know.

@joesoap, trolls are easily identified. They are against any means to get them under control. @Nian_Zhoe former known as @lenzrulz, who should be suspended for a long time, he is against any idea. Doesn't matter what. As cyberterrorist he tries to block any idea. I prefer a closed group idea moderated by the creator of the group. You can enter a group, but must ask for. @lenzrulz hate this idea, cuz he would be alone with his group and nobody woupd let him in.

So you delete your previous post because your illegal spamming is being exposed, you can’t help yourself, the lure of using illegal spamming software is irresistible, but fear not, the admins are aware of your spamming footprints. Return to your den and rethink your strategy or face imminent banning.

I support that too. I'll support any method to shut lenz out, as long as it doesn't depend on his cooperation.

Joesoap, I agree 100% with the other users here except Lenz_China, it's a clear fact who is only in search of an empty visibility without having any ability to teach or discuss electronic. It's sufficient navigate through the list of projects and posts to understand this simple truth. In fact the only contrary here to a some form of filtering is the oriental troll.

Trolls must be kicked out or if this is impossible KEEPED OUT from closed groups. Voila problem solved!

@joesoap, yes we agree how can we support you to make it real? Your idea is "Just allow other us to block, and effectively hide other users from our feed." I think this needs a more detailed explanation before you go ahead. Its a bit to short.

The only consensus we have so far are from an illegal spammer, a bully, and a grammatically challenged individual that couldn’t find his way out of a wet paper bag. Moderation wouldn’t be necessary if these clowns bypassed users circuits that they disagree with.

The kiddiwinks gang are giving all the suggestions, but it's them that are in mind when thinking of blocking!!

The lenz losers band panics whenever the notion of blocking or filtering users comes up. Bizarre - as they present it, they should be those most eager to have such a feature.

Right @Bushmills, both trolls Teddy and Lenny, both would be alone. No group access only to its own group "Trolls in Concert" They can have fun in its troll-group. Create your own group and start your troll song concert... That must be fun for both, lol. But in my and your groups they are blocked 🚫 No wonder they are against any additional troll blocking feature.

Soon each of them would have his own single person group, all alone, while still deluding themselves into believing that they represent 99.9999% of all users.

Stupidity personified is the rejection of an obvious and workable solution which the app developers will support. It’s called ignoring users or uses circuits or uses circuit descriptions that you disagree with. This is a no-brainer for the majority of the EC community.

@lenzrulz/Nian_Zheo. Your solution is obviously not workable. You are incapable of ignoring user's circuits you disagree with.

If what The Idiot Super Spammer says about groups is true, then he will be the only member in his own group of Super Spammers, but if he got lonely he will always be welcome in the Dummy Suckers group, or the Vulgar offensive group with The Super Sewer Mouth and Super Gob!!!

Irrelevanski always is. Well, at least when he doesn't swagger about "respect". Anyway, seems that he finally got around and supports some user blocking and filtering scheme too.
Tedski

I treat people with respect when they deserve it, you lot don't deserve it, l offered you another chance to end all this yesterday, but you threw it back in my face again, so, don't expect any respect from me, if you want respect, then start by finding out what it means!!!
Bushmills

faceblast, irrelevanski can luckily be ignored easily. When his master isn't around, he tends to fall silent, like a good doggie.

You were the one hiding behind your spam, you only came back out when Lenz was barred..ha..!!!

@Bushmills emerged from his den when the coast was all clear cowardly posting unsolicited messages and fallacious untenable narratives which is unethical, breeches privacy laws and definitely contravenes EC’s terms of use which prohibits this provocative behaviour. He has deliberately downgraded this app by posting negative reviews (lies) on Google play to force app developers to comply with his tantrum on how this app ought to be used.

You’re obviously delusional, probably experiencing “Lenz phobia”
Nian_Zheo

Ignoring users circuits and/or users circuits that you disagree with isn’t a feature, it’s courtesy and just plain good old-fashioned commonsense.
Nian_Zheo

You’re welcome hurz, try avoiding the “delete comment” option, man up to your posted comment otherwise you will loose credibility.

Thank you, lenz, for demonstrating to everybody, including the admins, how useful such a feature would be.
joesoap

Hey guys, thanks for the responses. I think the feature should literally allow a user to turn someone invisible from their perspective. Users aren’t stupid, if a user sees an account that is quite obviously not adding to its experience in the app, the user can hide them (from the user who requests the hide’s perspective). Any other feature spawned off of that could be informational. Anyone who has been hidden can either comment to their hearts content on anyone’s circuits, and the circuit creator will see nothing. This includes all other circuits. If a user has blocked someone, all activity from that someone will be invisible to the user.

So a user you've blocked is capable to spread slander or insults under your own circuits, without you able to do anything against that kind of abuse, and without you being aware of it?
joesoap
A fair point. But surely those people that want to learn about circuitry can in turn block those obviously slanderous users that comment. Pretty soon, unhelpful comments/users will be seen and heard by no one. It gives freedom of speech to everyone, but gives the choice to everyone, too, to choose whether to listen.
Bushmills

Though I prefer a slightly higher rigor in the consequences of those blocked, I recognize that this would ask less from those implementing such a feature. Some solution is better than none at all.
joesoap

That's my angle with the feature.... very low touch for the developers. Of course we want consequences for who we disagree with, but who plays judge and jury? Ultimately, you are the judge of your own feed. Hide something if you don't agree or don't want to see it. then one can EE and let EE.
