@hurz, it's not about the voltages, it's about three way switching. Ability to read is a must in engineering!

Engineering is to make correct circuits in detail! Maybe you will learn that one day, I guess you wont.

I rather use lower voltage in design stage instead of not adding current limiting resistors, because that is really bad design practice, so remember that as you're still learning. Next time try to figure it out your self, that way you learn faster.
