Driving a bunch of LEDs. Need 800 LEDs, want to reduce number of MOSFETs. voltage doubler(s) needed. Practical?

could you change to a constant current driver and do away with any of the extra bits?

Are you attempting to build your own LED Matrix, or are you using a pre-made Matrix panel?

I want to build a grow light with a bunch of LEDs lying around from a previous project. I just built this on a breadboard witj 3 Blue LEDs. 12V supply and 3.7V on Gate. Really cool to see no change in current if I change supply voltage between 10V and 16V+.

Current stays the same for Vcc of anything between just below 10V and 32V (max for PSU), BUT on higher voltage the IRF540 temp rises a tiny bit, resulting in higher current through LEDs. I guess this is where the constant current circuit comes in? Will try to adjust for that.

Going to use a rectifier on mains power and some caps. Then calculate how many LEDs I can add per line.
