Where's Secuture, Hurz, and all the rest of the people who made EC the platform that it is today? I miss having conversations with them. They were very well educated in the field, and knew many things I did not, helping me to fill gaps in circuits and learn from their knowledge. I miss the OG EC vet crew. Been a long 12 years since most of us used this application for circuits. I'm hoping they're alright, and if they're still here, I'd love to hear from them again 😁

Brother no. hurz, lenz, and the rest of them constantly fighting was what made me stop using me using this app. It's better off for it. Pretty sure those guys used multiple accounts to try and back up their cooked positions, they made the same spelling mistakes and used the same grammar and ...'s when doing so. It was hilariously awful.

I know i dont have much to add on this topic but i just searched up hurz and WOW those older circuits are incredible, it would be nice to see more of those on here now however it seemed like hurz pissed off a lot of people, whole circuits were built just to insult him, weird.

Was definitely weird, but Hurz was rude to people trying to learn in my experience, maybe I just came along after the fighting already started, dunno

I looked further into Hurz and his only circuit is a sort of thread for admins or something, it was strange but who was he?

He seemed to have come off as though he was some important figure on this app and as if people had to follow his orders.

EC has lost all technical aspects ever since. The few half decent circuits that get posted from time to time won't ever get a lot of views or topic related comments on them. I've resorted to leaving most of my recent circuits as private/unlisted.

I came along after the fighting seemed to resolve itself. The constant bombardment of hate comments during that time period still sickens me today. But not much can be done about said comments now, other than to needlessly report them. In any case, I am disappointed that hurz and kiani have deleted their circuits. I would have loved to see their creations

What do you even fight about, this is a app where you build circuits it couldnt get that deep

Big ego's and mental illness, I guess. It was a weird time. The app creator put in reporting and such, but it was too late by then, the damage was done

I think Hurz was wanting to do some welding and melt things a while. I am looking into Smith Charts some and how graphing can make things simpler than doing the math at times. My last interesting circuit was on Yahama 400 Majestic scooter. The loose sparkplug wire gave all kinds of strange grief. Make sure you have good plug connection so bumps and vibration does not stall engine.

So since I was also part of those arguments back in the day, I can clear the air a little bit 😝 Basically, there were some troll like users on the platform, that would make dangerous circuits, or steal them from other places and seek credit on them here. It started out *somewhat* civil at first, with Hurz and the rest of us building tweaked circuits to show others where they might have made mistakes. It then did devolve into childish name calling, insulting, and other non-helpful topics down the road, which was distasteful, I'm not innocent in contributing to that myself at times back then. I feel the main issue that would cause all the anger and violence though, was language barriers. Hurz is German, they are a very direct people, blunt. They say what they mean and don't sugar coat it. Sometimes, something can be said that wasn't mean to be taken one way, it is, and it starts a problem with another party. But this of course lead to the whole "buddy system", where friends would join in and defend each other, like most would. This created a divide on the platform, with most of us throwing our hands up and walking away from here for a bit, myself included.

I pity all the parties involved, as well as every bystander who had to tolerate such violence. It honestly sickens me to see grown people act so immature, fighting over trivial problems, throwing accusations, and brewing up trouble where there was none origionally. But what’s in the past can’t be done about now, even if measures are placed to reduce or prevent future problems. We can at least do the best we can in the present, and try to avoid future conflics.

Right, and I'll agree, it was totally unprofessional behavior on all parties involved during those days, things could have been handled better, but, as you said, you can't change the past, only grow from it. I've noticed over my decade plus here that there do tend to be a lot of textbook examples being posted, a lot of which are similar to each other. Some might consider these things spam, but, in the same sense, didn't we all start at the basics? One doesn't just become good in this field overnight πŸ˜‚ It's our duty as people with more years experience in the field to help educate those entering it, not make them run from the field. It seems like EC has gotten better with this over the years, either with people not caring enough to comment on these things, or perhaps the moderation is actually doing its trick.

EC is lacking an active core community with a higher level of education. There might be some active people with decent knowledge and there might be some electronic experts checking in from time to time, but there is no bigger group of people that is both. I feel like if mediocre educated people would get regular and professional feedback and discussions on their circuits, they would also be helping the beginners on the basics a lot more. Now most people quit after a few posts or if they outgrow the average level on here. That's something that definitely got lost during this argument.

Like, this post is the first with more than 10 comments that I've seen in ages, yet it's not related to electronics. If it was about electronics, the comments would most likely be "nice" or "neat" or "good job" or on rare occasions a bit of technical feedback and never more than 3 or 4.

Oh right on, I can't tell you how many times I've seen the 1-3 word replies on most circuits, and like you say, they're just simple words, nobody seems to engage in circuits here anymore. I mean, just from what I've seen the last few weeks, there are a few people here that seem to know some things, and a lot of beginners. I mean, back in the day, we were using Google Hangouts for most social media related to this platform, but not electronics directly... You can tell how long that lasted πŸ˜‚

We can all learn from each other regardless of the argument concerning educational requisites. Knowledge is akin to a giant puzzle in which individuals input varying degrees of knowledge making up the whole. Hurz undoubtedly had knowledge but he had serious social issues viciously attacking anyone who lacked his vision of electronics. He also attracted likeminded individuals who likewise ganged up of less knowledgeable individuals and joined in the foray. But since the departure of Hurz and his likeminded followers, EC has become a peaceful learning environment in which individuals can express themselves by posting their favourite circuits. Their knowledge further improves when reading respectful comments from other knowledgeable users - this has been the healthy environment that all of us currently enjoy.

Ahhh look, it's Mister danger himself. Given our past history, I'd appreciate it if you stayed out of my circuits lens, I'm not looking to start WW2 on this platform again πŸ˜‚
