Hit the reset button, the output turns on (LED ON). Short it down to 10-ohms, it resets without drawing lots of amps.

Which commercial transistor type could I use to realize this circuit? Thanks

Honestly, I'm not sure. Pretty much any type. Are you going to build it on a breadboard?

Hi, Yes i could realize this circuit on a breadboard. I'm searching for something similar to adapt it to a power supply for hi voltage circuit (120-380 Vdc for tubes circuit).

Why use the npn as a switch and not a pnp? I do not quite understand the arrangement of the pnp on the base of the npn pass transistor. Both can be replaced by a single pnp with the base connected to the 2k2 resistor.
