Adjust the potentiometer to vary the output voltage. This is a Linear Power Supply Unit (with current limiting) that can output upto 32V at 1.25A (32.5V for a lower output current) and can go down to 0V when the current limit is active (1V under normal operation). The current limit starts kicking in at 1.25A and limits the short circuit current to 1.5A (the lack of sharpness is due to the fact that a single BJT is used for current limiting). The circuit on the top left is just an AC-DC converter and needs no explanation. The explanation for the voltage regulation circuit can be found here: http://everycircuit.com/circuit/6305068551503872 . And don't mind the L shaped schematic. I thought that the regulator circuit would occupy more space and started drawing in that way to make space.

Thanks! As obvious as it is to fix the scope Y axis by adding ground to display, I still have missed that simple way - learned that from this your circuit now.

Welcome. The auto scaling of the scope can be annoying sometimes, even though it's quite useful. Same goes for the autorouting. It's useful, but can be annoying sometimes.

Nice stuff!

EC suffers from lack of controls,, ie.. Pointers on screen for measurments.... Adjustable time base,, ability to switch off the auto scale.. And blocking message or users facility..... Oh and above all lack of managements, lack of drvrloper's interest.

Nice work, here is the circuit drawn in a more standard format; http://everycircuit.com/circuit/4961083283210240

The circuit is a bit messed up on the right side. The pass transistor is below the feedback resistor, the load and output filter cap are not placed the way i prefer. Although my L shaped schematic is a little wired, i prefer it. It could have been drawn in a neat, straight line if there were more space.

I'd like to adapt this into an 18V 2A Linear PSU. What MOSFET do you reccomend?
