This is know a seed based random number generator .. Input the seed with those 4 logic sources and turn that source on the bottom On and wait until the led switches from Off to On and then turn the source Off .. Now look at the display to see the random number This circuit will shift the number to the right and XOR the shifted bit with the bit next to it and will output it to the last bit The seed can't be 0

Google LFSR, 'linear feedback shift registers' using xor you can get pseudo'ish random

Uh-oh. There's been a change in the Matrix.

The 'matrix' here being the EC simulation

Lol. Yep, it's hard not kicking that can.

I googled it and saw the first picture in wikipidea .. That was enough .. It's now random with seed

What is that matrix you are talking about?

I miss our 'random' talks maxmax ;) but I think I must have killed it by bringing in plancks length and all that :P

Hunar I believe matrix maxmax is referring to is the simulation EC, it's 'subtly' been changed recently by introduction of propagation delay to the logic gates

...or he could have been referring to our talks of randomness in a simulated world?? Which is it maxmax?

Just a lighthearted reference from the movie to a sense of déjà-vu, but it applies equally well to the logic gate delay, lol. It's nice to see random idea keep coming up. It's a fascinating topic and made for a great discussion. Good job, hunar. roops always has good advice.
