Um, no. First off transformers only work to transform ac, not dc. Secondly, it isn't even wired correctly to be a transformer. Finally the only reason you are seeing a voltage drop is because there is a voltage drop as it goes past the primary of the transformer because it is acting as in inductor. The led has too much voltage going to it and it burns out.
