The 555 creates a single tone. But when op amp oscillator controls base of bjt, the bjt directs current flow from threshold and trigger capacitor on 555; therefore changing tone back and forth. Ignore the Hz readout as this is not simulated correctly. You may have to inject noise or shake your phone to inject noise to get the oscillations started from the op amp.
