just 2 resistors, 2 transistors, and a flyback transformer. works great!
EDIT: The capacitor is optional and not needed for the circuit to function. It's simply there to extend the pulse period of the current through the primary and help the circuit operate more efficiently. If you decide to add the capacitor into your circuit be sure to experiment with different values to find what works best with your set-up.
