They look better in EC with at least 2 LEDs per segment.

Since you have 7 switches, schema is a bit complex. Build a counter should be better imo

You could add a binary counter system where you would need only 5 switches, but that would be a big chalenge. Lets see if you can do.

You know, each switch is 1, 2, 4, 8, 16 and you turn them on and off accordingly
