LC tank circuit in both series and parallel acting as switch

It's a bad design,  not behaving as expected, any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

What exactly are you trying to accomplish?

dstair, I wanted to feed this circuit two frequencies via infrared, one freq. causes series LC to be short, one freq. causes the parallel LC to be open, so it essentially acts as an on/off switch, LED is just an equivalent load, it could be a relay or sth.
