Yes but not power efficient, in this configuration your driving 10amps when off (switch closed)

You could goes up resistor to 2 ohm and add a resistor 15 ohm just after the switch , so led it's not shorted completely by switch. In this case you may have 100mA consuption when off, even if it's a lot anyway.

I wouldn't say this is an inverting switch, you're just shorting out the LED.
