Simulation Speed Pain

Why can't EC simulate a simple AC source at high speed? But it can simulate a useless self oscillating relay at high speed. With the AC source, the simulation max speed is 3ms/s. If the AC source is deleted, the simulation will run at 1s/s. Even adding a NOT gate limits the speed to 11ms/s.

Because it sets the time scale automatically to view useful data. Why would you want to watch high frequency signals at such a high time constant that it basically blurs to one continuous line?

Because sometimes you might want to demonstrate how something would operate in the real world, or close to it. Then, once you see it operate, slow it down to analyse it. I posted this circuit a few weeks ago: http://everycircuit.com/circuit/6743444484784128. I'm sure when people look at it, they would not want to wait for it to show the initial set frequency, let alone adjust the frequency and wait again.

Do some calculation how much cpu power/performance this would need to follow your request. And some people even want that at even higher frequencies ratios like 100MHz FM modulator while watching an audio input signal 1kHz. Thats with todays cpus impossible and will take a few more years or decades to come close to that. Or maybe never, cuz compare a blur signal with a nice one doesn't help for example in distortion question, cause you cant visualy compare them on a 1000pix x-width screen.
