Does "perfect DC" mean no ac ripple at all? Look at the voltage on the capacitor alone. It doesn't look as perfect as it does when you look at it along with the source voltage.

Why is there a resistor to ground from diode? Thats probably why it started the ripple effect around 900Hz to 1.10kHz. And filtering should be between 4.7mF to 22mF
